Elk Visitor Center

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has opened its Elk Country Visitors Center and Maintenance Building. The mission of the Elk Foundation is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, and their habitat. To help control heating and cooling costs, R-Control SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) were selected in the design of this energy efficient roof system. The large SIP roof panels helped expedite the construction schedule.
R-Control SIPs not only provide a strong structural roof system that resist loads caused by wind and snow, but they are also environmentally friendly. The structural skins of R-Control Structural Insulated Panels are made from renewable wood resources, and the EPS core contains no CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, or formaldehyde while providing superior insulation. For years and years, this R-Control structure will save fuel used for heating and cooling and reduce pollutants.
