Custom Home – Lima, NY

The BARNagain project design by In.Site:Architecture was designed to make use of materials from a reclaimed barn along with R-Control SIPs.  The combination of modern materials, reclaimed materials, and solid building science guided the design of the project.

R-Control SIPs were selected to provide a high insulation roof system over the timber-framed roof structure.  In combination with the timber-frame, R-Control SIPs assisted with creating the open spaces for the design while simultaneously reducing energy use.

This home was built with the future in mind.  The owners wanted little or no utility bills to worry about.  The use of the energy efficient building shell in combination with photovoltaic panels mean the house is near net zero with respect to energy use.  The timeless home earned an impressive Energy Star Rating and LEED Platinum-certified efficiency.
